I have prepared this easy and understandable tutorial to guide JAMB candidates on how to check admission status on JAMB Portal 2023 and also how to accept admission on JAMB CAPS.

Rejecting admission is not an option but some candidates have end up rejecting their admissions on JAMB CAPS when their actual intent was to accept it.

If you are in a die need for learning this then you don’t have to stress yourself just because you want to learn on how to accept admission on JAMB CAPS portal.

In this quick guide, I’ll be giving you a step by step guideline on how to accept admission on JAMB portal to avoid taking wrong steps that will lead to regrets.

How Does the JAMB CAP Admission Status Portal Works?

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has what we call (CAPS) also known as Central Admission Processing Systems is the JAMB system for processing candidates’ admission into Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges, and other Tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The portal enables candidates to quickly access their admission status and decide whether to accept or reject the admission.

Hence, all admission processes are processed online via the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), and as such candidates who want to get admitted in any of the tertiary institutions in Nigeria show interest on whether to accept or reject admission on the CAPS.

Note: Some institutions may not publish the names of students/candidates that have been admitted on their own portal or notice board and as such Aspirants are expected to continually check JAMB CAPS to track their admission status.

How to Accept or Reject Admission on JAMB CAPS 2023

Aspirants can either check and accept or reject their admission status on any internet accessible device like mobile devices, computers, tablets.

Below are some methods of checking JAMB admission status on JAMB CAPS portal and how to accept the admission:

How to Check JAMB admissions with a computer 2023

Step 1: To access the JAMB e-facility, you will have to visit this website; https://efacility.JAMB.gov.ng/.

Step 2: Fill in the details with the email and password you created during registration and then log in.

Step 3: click on the CHECK ADMISSION STATUS link

Step 4: Choose the year of your examination, enter your JAMB registration number in the appropriate column, and then click on the access my CAPS option

Step 5: select your admission status and search.

Step 6: You can now accept or reject your admission status under admission profile, if you have been offered admission, you will see the accept and reject button active for you to be able to click but if you have not been admitted the options will be inactive.

How to Check and Accept Admissions on JAMB CAPS with a mobile device

You may not see the check admission status option if you are using a mobile device or another browser that is not Google chrome to access your CAPS.

In cases like this, you will only see “Welcome” but the page will be blank. As such, the chrome browser is recommended for candidates who are viewing their admission status with a mobile device.

Using the chrome browser on a mobile device, you will follow the following steps to check your JAMB admission status using mobile phone;

Step1: Visit the JAMB e-facility website @ https://efacility.JAMB.gov.ng/.

Step 2: Enter your email address and password in the required column and log in

Step 3: Click on “check admission status”

Step 4: Select examination year, enter your JAMB registration number and click on Access my CAPS button

(A white screen will welcome you)

Step 5; click on menu icon denoted by a three dotted line on the right corner of the browser, then click on desktop site

Step 6: select your admission status on the left panel, then click on the search button to load your profile.

Step 7: You can now accept/reject admission offer under “Admission profile” as it will be active for you to click if you have been offered admission and inactive if you’ve not been offered admission.

For Candidates who are yet to be admitted, I’ll advice you keep your eyes on your CAPS, do not loose focus neither should you lose hope, you might be admitted at anytime.

What Should I do if I mistakenly Reject my Admission on CAPS?

There are situations where candidates end p rejecting their admission, some intentionally while others unintentionally, but later regret and want the admission back.

In cases like this, the candidate will have to go through some processes to enable him or her get the admission back. Here are some things you need to do if you rejected your admission but want it back:

  1. Visit a JAMB office in your state
  2. Explain the reasons why you rejected the admission (whether intentional or unintentional)
  3. State why you need the admission back
  4. From here, the JAMB officials will guide you on what to do next to get the admission back.

In some cases, you may also have to visit the school that gave you the admission to seek for advise on what to do to gain back the admission.

Conclusion

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is created to ensure transparency, credibility in Admission processes. It is only on JAMB CAPS that you accept or reject admission.

Successfully admitted candidates are advised to ensure that they indicate the acceptance or rejection of admission online and timely to enable the processing of their admission.

Once you accept the admission, your admission quest is over as you will no longer be available for other schools’ admission consideration.

On the other hand, if you reject the admission, you become available to other schools who have free admission slots for admission consideration.
