The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has what we call (CAPS) also known as Central Admission Processing Systems is the JAMB system for processing candidates’ admission into Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges, and other Tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The portal enables candidates to quickly access their admission status and decide whether to accept or reject the admission.
Hence, all admission processes are processed online via the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), and as such candidates who want to get admitted in any of the tertiary institutions in Nigeria show interest on whether to accept or reject admission on the CAPS.
Note: Some institutions may not publish the names of students/candidates that have been admitted on their own portal or notice board and as such Aspirants are expected to continually check JAMB CAPS to track their admission status.

What Should I do if I mistakenly Reject my Admission on CAPS?
There are situations where candidates end p rejecting their admission, some intentionally while others unintentionally, but later regret and want the admission back.
In cases like this, the candidate will have to go through some processes to enable him or her get the admission back. Here are some things you need to do if you rejected your admission but want it back:
- Visit a JAMB office in your state
- Explain the reasons why you rejected the admission (whether intentional or unintentional)
- State why you need the admission back
- From here, the JAMB officials will guide you on what to do next to get the admission back.
In some cases, you may also have to visit the school that gave you the admission to seek for advise on what to do to gain back the admission.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is created to ensure transparency, credibility in Admission processes. It is only on JAMB CAPS that you accept or reject admission.
Successfully admitted candidates are advised to ensure that they indicate the acceptance or rejection of admission online and timely to enable the processing of their admission.
Once you accept the admission, your admission quest is over as you will no longer be available for other schools’ admission consideration.
On the other hand, if you reject the admission, you become available to other schools who have free admission slots for admission consideration.
So I will personally advise you to keep checking your CAPS time to time so you can accept your admission on time, immediately JAMB updates your admission status.
