Scholarships for African American Women 2023

    African American women usually face some obstacles and miss out on opportunities for education due to factors like racial and gender biases, dress codes, school policies and identity marginalization.

    Even with the high population of African American women, they are the least in many sectors like Sciences, engineering, mathematics and statistics, and many more.

    Many organizations are setting up scholarship programs to provide financial support and bridge the gap between both genders.

    Black, Coloured and Indigenous students between the ages of 17 to 21 with admission into any North American post-secondary institutions can benefit from the scholarship.

    The scholarship award is between $300 to $3,500

    Dr. Julianne Malveaux Scholarship

    If you are a college sophomore African American woman with at least a GPA of 3.0, then Dr. Julianne Malveaux Scholarship is for you. The award ranges from $500 to $1,000.

    Kynnedy Simone ‘I Am The Dream’ Scholarship

    African American high school students who want to pursue a two or four year undergraduate program or trade and vocational program starting Summer 2023 or Fall 2023 can apply for this scholarship.
